Attention all Full Time Regulars Clerks within the Fontana Bid Cluster:
The 2025 Vacation Sign-Up period will begin on December 1, 2024, covering the leave calendar from January 6, 2025, to January 4, 2026. Please provide your contact information to the union and have your preferred dates ready. If you are on scheduled or unscheduled leave, the union will reach out to gather your preferred dates. Remember, you’ll have a maximum of 48 hours to respond. If you do not reply within this timeframe, you will be bypassed.
The union is aware that the vacation sign-up has been implemented incorrectly due to a misunderstanding regarding the maximum days allowed for the first-round bid. The LMOU does not specify splitting your maximum days across multiple choices. The contract requires that the first bid consist of consecutive days, up to the maximum specified in Article 10.3.D.1 and 10.3.D.2. In the second round, you may bid on the remaining leave, allowing you to spread your time across multiple weeks if desired.
Per the Fontana LMOU – Formulation of Local Leave Program, the following guidelines apply for vacation days earned:
• Career employee with 15 years
- 26 Days Earned – 15-Day Maximum for First Choice Bid
• Career employee with more than 3 but less than 15 years
- 20 Days Earned – 15-Day Maximum for First Choice Bid
• Career employee with less than 3 years
- 13 Days Earned – 10-Day Maximum for First Choice Bi
In accordance with CBA Article 10.3
Section D.1: Employees with less than three (3) years of creditable service will be granted a maximum of 10 continuous days of annual leave.
Section D.2: Employees with more than three (3) years of creditable service will be granted a maximum of 15 continuous days of annual leave for their choice vacation period selection(s).
Please review the attached vacation calendar and have your preferred dates ready, as the vacation board must be finalized by December 31, 2024.
Thank you for your attention to this process. Please be prepared to select your dates promptly.
